Alex is founder and Chief Executive Officer of Betashares – a leading Australian wealth manager serving over 1 million Australians and their financial advisers. As of July 2026, Betashares manages over $90 billion in assets across a market-leading suite of exchange traded funds, managed accounts and superannuation offerings, as well as via Betashares Direct - an innovative investment platform designed to help clients build long-term wealth.
Alex serves on a number of company and not-for-profit boards.
He is founder and director of United Ukraine Appeal, a registered Australian charity focused on delivering humanitarian aid to the people of Ukraine. Alex also serves on the Board of the Dor Foundation.
Alex is director and principal of Apex Capital Partners; a private investment firm focused on investments in the financial services sector.
Prior to commencing his career in financial services, Alex was a lawyer at Baker & McKenzie, specialising in financial services, mergers and acquisitions.
Alex holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of New South Wales.
Alex lives in Sydney with his wife and two children.
