John O'Loghlen is Regional Managing Director APAC and Country Director of Coinbase Australia. He leads the company's growth across Australia, Singapore and India.
Before Coinbase, John was Regional Director for Australia at Ant Group. There he also led Alipay across Australia and New Zealand and oversaw the WorldFirst cross-border payments business. Before that, he was Director of Business Development at Alibaba Group.
John spent more than a decade building businesses in China, including as Director at Gung Ho Ventures, a China-focused food and beverage concept platform. He began his career at Goldman Sachs, where he worked in London, New York and Beijing from 2000 to 2005. He moved to Sydney in 2014.
At Coinbase, John leads regulatory engagement and market expansion across APAC. In Australia, that includes securing the company's AFSL and building its derivatives business.
Originally from New Zealand, John holds a B.A. from Harvard University and a Master of Philosophy from the University of Cambridge.
